Last Saturday Line and I attended the first edition of the Brussels fashion days. It’s a three-day fashion event that promotes Belgian fashion designers, from established designers to upcoming talent. Over 50 Belgian designers presented their clothing and accessories.
Next to all these beautiful clothes we could also enjoy a fashion photography exhibition, make-up and hairstyling and the best work of the students of Brussels fashion academies.
We really enjoyed taking a close look to all these designs in the large display area. Some designs were really pretty but simple, while others were more sophisticated and others definitely had some weirdness going on. You just got to love the versatility of fashion right?!
My personal favorite is the ‘witch’ outfit by Monsieur Brul. I loved the combination of a simple sweater with a transparent maxi skirt. If you look closely you can see the sound of music like shorts underneath the skirt, just marvelous!
However we did kind of had the feeling that the Brussels designers where a bit more represented than others. We missed some great Belgian talent on the runway.
However we think it’s a good start and we’re excited to check out some more and new talent next year.
