I met Lon this past summer. The jean-overalls he was wearing were all baggy as they draped along his skinny body. His accent was pretty neutral, despite his Chattanooga roots. I didn’t believe him when he told me he was from Tennessee, but I guess he’s used to that by now.
Lon’s a special cat, I mean really. He has the most gifted hands I ever seen tough a guitar, as if he is one of the few people on the planet who have found and embraced their true natural talents. With his bony frame and chaliced fingers, comes the most stylish, moustache to be seen east of the Mississippi. It was the first time I’d ever known somebody use more bees-wax than shampoo.
He’s a true Moustachekateer. Check out his website and if you have a minute, take a listen to a genius playing the blues.
